Now that he's feeling confident and comfortable around Clint like this Steve thinks he's going to have a lot of fun. Will he still be kind of dorky? Yes. He will be because he is, but he feels a lot better flirting when he's sure of himself.
When the elevator stops he lets Clint get off first and then follows him towards the kitchen. If the whole team is in the communal living area to watch them, well, that's fine. Steve pretends not to notice them.

Either way, Clint drops off the trash in a compactor that is so complicated it makes literally no sense to him how or why it works, and then goes poking around for those cookies.
The longer he can stretch this, the more time he gets to spend with Steve Rogers tonight. He can ignore the annoying pain in his side and the bruises on his face for as long as it takes.
Clint wraps two cookies in a paper towel and microwaves them for a few seconds to melt the chocolate. That‘a what makes them the best.

"Give me a few days and I can have everything I need to make lamb stew and soda bread." He comes to stand next to Clint at the microwave leaning against the counter.
Hopefully, he comes across as a little smooth and cool instead of a guy who's excited for a second date. "If we don't have to go beat up Hydra in between then and now."
Which is likely given how doggedly Steve's pursuing them. They pop up like weeds that Steve's constantly got to pull.

The microwave dings, but Clint pauses, his eyes momentarily on the handle beside Steve’s head.
In today’s day and age, a person asks for consent. In Steve’s it was romantic to just go ahead and do the thing you want. Clint is torn, and while he does kill people for a living, bad as they may be, he decides that the morally right thing to do is ask.
“I know there’s still cookies, but I’ve been itching to kiss you all night. Can I?”

"I've never kissed a guy before," he warns. "And, uh, don't have much practice in general."
It might be bad. Steve's almost ready for Clint to be disappointed because he can't kiss as well as a blond bombshell should. And it's probably not that different kissing a guy but he doesn't know. He just doesn't.
"But if you want to a kiss sounds nice." Because, again, he was thinking about it himself just not with the same confidence.

He doesn’t waste any more time. Clint’s fingers lightly press to Steve’s ear as he pulls his face downward. He can’t do much stretching just yet but he tries his best to meet him. The archer’s free hand sets on Steve’s hip as his head turns again and their lips press together.
You can teach a person to kiss but it’s not something you normally have to do. Partners learn together, and Clint’s lips are yielding, encouraging, and patient. They might to be soft or covered in lipstick, but they are warm and gentle.

Kissing has always been one of Steve's favorite things even with his lack of experience. It's always made him feel closer to the person he's with. There's something intimate about it that makes something in Steve curl and twist with delight.
He lowers his hand to Clint's elbow, gently taking hold, and returns the kiss as best he can. He's a little cautious, a little uncertain, but like always he tries with everything he has to kiss Clint back and make it good.

His eyes are closed but his mind is swirling with all sorts of impossible thoughts. First: this is happening but can’t be. Second: holy crap, he’s kissing the supposedly dead artist of a poster that meant everything to him during the hardest parts of his childhood. Three: Steve is so impossibly easy to love and the guy doesn’t even know it.
When Clint breaks the kiss off, he keeps his eyes closed, and swallows. “Wow.”

He feels a little dazed when Clint draws back. Steve needs a second to get his thoughts back in order as they were a little scattered from the kiss.
"Yeah?" He lights up, happy that Clint is happy. "I like kissing."
After a beat Steve realizes how that might have sounded. "I like kissing you! I mean, I do like kissing in general but that felt really good."
Okay, saved it. Although he probably looks like a dork which is fine. Clint seems to like him anyway.
